A Dream Within A Dream

All that we see or seem,
Is just a dream within a dream,
Or maybe just maybe,
This could be another planet's Hell.

A funhouse insurrection,
The clowns ponder in your direction,
Blood is spilled upon the floor,
Awake, awake, awake once more.

All that we see or seem,
Is just a dream within a dream.

I have spread my dreams beneath your feet,
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.

Beautiful scenes of enchanted hills and gardens,
Fountains that sing in the sun,
Golden cliffs overhanging murmuring seas,
And Plains that stretch on for days.

All that we see or seem,
Is just a dream within a dream.

Shadowy companies of heroes,
Ride gallant white horses,
Through the magnificent ivory gates,
Into the wild world of wonder.

Once life stirs your eyes,
Again begins your boring worthless life.
